11.1 Wall/Ceiling Out of Plumb, Level, or Square
Description
Framing includes walls, ceilings, and floor structures such as stud walls, joists, rafters, etc. and involve both wood and steel materials. All framing is structural in nature, though not all framing is load-bearing.Warranty Period
General defects in framing receive 1-year warranty coverage (15-months for common property) as per the Residential Construction Performance Guide.
Where poor framing around windows leads to leaks, such defects receive 2-year warranty coverage.
Where framing causes structural issues, the 10-year structural warranty may take effect.
When a building is sold, the WUD-supplied warranty coverage period will be as described in the contract between WUD and the buyer.
Potentially Warrantable Issues
- Wall out of plumb more than 1" over 96" (8') span (RCPG 3.1)
- Ceiling drywall appears uneven or wavy by more than 6mm over 24" span (RCPG 9.1)
- Wall not square by more than 1" over 72" (6') span (RCPG 12.3)
Non-Warrantable Issues
- Wall out of plumb, but within tolerances as outlined herein
- Ceiling drywall appears uneven or wavy, but within tolerance as outlined herein
